The position
Development of a supplier base in China
Management of cost reduction projects for existing product
Support ongoing R&D projects from concept to mass production
Negotiations of terms and conditions with new and existing suppliers
Management of supplier relationships to facilitate continuous improvements
Providing leadership to the SCM team in Guangzhou
Participation in the Guangzhou company management team.
Responsibilities
Identify and analyse potential sources for commodities/components (electronic assemblies, hydraulic components, sheet metal parts, plastic parts, castings, machined parts) in Asia.
Proactive product research and develop new sources of supply.
Responsible for Purchase, Quality Assurance and Deliveries.
Prepare analyses to determine the purchasing strategy for Maas International Companies.
Negotiation and administration of pricing agreements and supplier contracts in optimal terms.
Maintain continuity of supply for our manufacturing
Secure the communication and the cooperation between the offices in Guangzhou and Germany.
Introduce best practices.
Develop the SCM organisation at Guangzhou company.
Manage and mentor SCM team members
Create and document SCM processes
Qualifications
University degree with a technical focus or equivalent training
The applicant may currently be working – or may possible have worked – in a similar position within a Western company
At least 3 years purchasing and global sourcing experiences within the machine tool industry
Experience with SCM in an engineering environment
Very good negotiation and communication skills
Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast paced environment
Min 3-5 years experience of leadership to be documented.

Strong analytical skills
As a person the successful applicant is expected to be outgoing
