Senior Merchandiser/Merchandiser for Home Textile & Garment (Buying Office)Job description· Work together with the China General Manager and the head office to develop, implement and follow up the sourcing strategic plan for China.· Source new factories and products in China· Work actively with evaluation and development of existing as well as new suppliers· Set up and develop the Chinese supplier database.· Plan for buyer visits and accompany buyers visiting suppliers and factories.· Work with price and quotation management· Negotiations with suppliers and factories· Coordinate the contract and businesses term negotiation with suppliers and factories· Receive, translate, place and follow orders· Manage the Quality Controller within his/her area· Prepare the QC file and arrange the schedules of quality inspection· Visit the suppliers regularly to solve the production problem and maintain the relationship · Arrange testing of the products and ensure the needed certificates are in place· Develop working procedures and filing systems and do filing· Make sure delivery times are punctual and quality standards reached· Settle claimsRequirements· University degree preferably in textile major· Extensive experience from home textile & garment merchandising· Familiar with the home textile & garment market in China, knowledge about what areas are "strong" in what products· Strong sourcing abilities· Strong negotiator· Able to work independently· Good knowledge of fabric, workmanship and the production process· Experience from working closely with overseas buyers· Experience of sourcing and developing suppliers in China· Customer focused and service oriented· Used to work under pressure and with tight dead-lines· Good command of written and spoken English
