Position Summary
Facilitates the identification, and evaluation the selected suppliers for the placement of purchase orders for finished goods, raw materials or other unprocessed goods, machinery, equipment, tools, parts, and other supplies or services necessary for the operation of the organization.
Position Responsibilities
1. Interviews suppliers to obtain information concerning product/service, price, ability of supplier to produce product/service, and delivery date. This will include supplier evaluations in person and via verbal or written correspondence.
2. Negotiate bid proposals with suppliers, manage quoting process; Enters into contracts within budgetary limitations.
3. Maintains records of purchased items, cost, delivery, Minimum order Quantity; Leadtime, performance, and inventory.
4. Under immediate supervision, carries out assignments requiring knowledge in the field of specialization and of the organization in order to facilitate company objectives as related to specific projects or category.
5. Works closely with sourcing manager, product innovation, product managter to execute category projects and objectives.
6. Works as a liaison between suppliers and PF team to execute new product development, production management and projects as required.
7. Reviews & communicates forecasts, production schedules, continual improvement, lean manufacturing and related projects on a regular basis with suppliers.
Required Experience
1. A minimum of five years 5 years prior related experience preferred.
2. Business or Engineering related Bachelor's Degree required.
3. Good written and verbal English language capabilities required.
Competencies
1. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Microsoft Office sofeware.
2. Must have good negotiating and problem solving skills.
3. Must be able to multi-task and detail oriented to drive the project
4. Must be reliable and timely on commitments.
5. Must be proactive, self-motivated and creative in finding ways to achieve company objectives.
6. Must be culturally sensitive and be able to travel domestic and internationally.
7. Must have good written and verbal English language capabilities.
