General Responsibilities

The field sales engineer person shall be the company’s local representative. The main task and responsibility is to play an active part in growing and developing the business for the Sandvik Materials Technology’s product range-Strip,Wire,towards all relevant application segments. Achieve primarily through frequent visits and contacts with the customers in order to generate profit for the company. Key accountabilitiesSales and marketing duties throughout dedicated region with part of the following products and customer segments:High value added Strip and Wire materials for applicationsAutomotive and compressor industryMedical,safety Spring IndustryPaper&Printing industrySaw industryWatch industryKnife industryOil,gas and energySports and leisureFine mechanical applicationsLaboratory and space industryTo achieve sales targets as defined by the Marketing Manager and Global Product Managers. To search suspect customers and prospective customers and work out the target customers. Prepare visit plans for prospective and established customers with due regard for priority companies to be visited. Negotiate sales prices with customers according to SMT’s Consolidated Business Approach and policies established with the Marketing Manager at the Product Unit. Maintenance of key accounts(“brick-walling”)and development of new prospects onto the buying platform. Promoting the products,follow up of offers and feedback to Inside Sales and Line Management as appropriate. To be involved in arranging exhibitions,seminars and regional(internal)meetings as directed by the local or global sales Management. Maintaining records of customer/prospect visits(notebook)and formally reporting important customer and competitor information to the sales management,utilizing the Customer Relationship Management software SSCS. Report and follow up customer complaints regarding products and services. Assist customers with material selection(with support from technical supporting functions and references as required)to ensure that their needs are defined and are satisfied. Assisting local(SIT)and line Management in the preparation of forecasts/budgets according to allocated scope or territory. Develop and maintain a high degree of product knowledge. To be focused on own product responsibility yet willing to demonstrate a consolidated SMT view where necessary to ensure optimal synergy within the Sales Units. Contribute positively to the development and maintenance of operational procedures and quality assurance systems.
