1. Purpose of PositionThe person is this role will serve as a key member of the Plant Leadership team, responsible for managing all logistical arrangements to ensure the on-time delivery of Corning Life Sciences products to Chinese domestic and international customers. They will manage warehouse operations and ensure accuracy of inventory records and 100% compliance of all shipments to Chinese government import/export regulations.
2. Major Responsibilities- Work collaboratively with other plant leadership team members to ensure smooth start-up operations for the distribution and manufacturing facility in Suzhou, China.- Lead a team to plan and prepare all required shipment logistics and documents for on-time, defect free shipment of Corning Life Science products to customers.- Ensure all shipments fully comply with applicable local government and global protocols and trade regulations and duties.- Maintain inventory records that accurately itemize the product code and quantity of all inventory items. Inventory may include finished goods, in-process wares, repair parts, storeroom suppliues, packing materials and/or raw materials.- Coordinates with supply chain leadership; determining best shipment method to balance the need for on-time shipment with achieving the lowest possible landed cost of products.- Complete all required transactions related to the receipt and disbursement of inventoried items to and from the warehouse.- Continuously improve the cycle time for processing orders and shipments to Life Sciences customers.- Work closely with Supply Chain colleagues as well as Procurement & Transportation to continuously improve the cost of shipments, driving towards lowest landed costs for all products.- Manage warehouse, receiving and shipping standards to be in full compliance with Corporate Safety, Health and Environmental requirements.- Establish a culture of continuous improvement, professional expertise and performance excellence across the distribution team

5. Education and Skill:- Strong cross-cultural skills; understand local culture and bi-lingual in Mandarin and English. Able to interact effectively with regional and global colleagues; understands the need for flexibility; open to trying new things- Able to set clear direction, set stretch targets and lay out work in an organized manner- Dedicated to meeting customer expectations, acts with customer in mind- Develops schedules and adequately resources the work to succeed- Uses rigorous logic to solve difficult problems; probes all potential solutions- Ability to align objectives across all functions in the plant- Manages through conflicting interests and tradeoffs- Ability to optimize performance and profitability- Able to create commitment to department goals and objectives- Experienced in leading projects or organizations undergoing change- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts- Proven supervisory skills, prefer manufacturing environment experience- 8+ years of experience in the field of distribution and logistics- Certification in global trade compliance, desired not mandatory- Certified in Production and Inventory management (CPIM)
